In the true spirt of service and activism, Sherrie has a tremendous passion for developing the next generation of leaders. For nearly 20 years, she has been teaching undergraduate- and graduate-level students on business principles and theory and its application to practice at Nyack College and University of the District of Columbia. Currently, she teaches at the University of Colorado, Denver.
Sherrie also has significant experience establishing, coordinating and delivering training curricula across industries and leading efforts to develop community leaders. For three years, she served as Director of Accelerated Degree Completion Program for Nyack College, where she dramatically improved program functions by creating and implementing new internal and external systems. Her commitment to leadership development was achieved in 2008 when she participated in the DC Neighborhood College’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership through George Washington University.
Sherrie holds a Bachelor of English from University of North Carolina, Charlotte and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Nyack College. Her research interests include management leadership and organizational change. After spending 15 years in Washington, DC and returning home to her native North Carolina for two years, she relocated to Denver, Colorado to become even more involved in the mission of providing support for other survivors. She is a SoulCollage® facilitator, enjoys live music, international travel, yoga and meditation, and hiking the beautiful Rocky Mountains. She lives with her rescue kitty, Jax.
